SSCC Mission to Tonga |
Fr. Paul Zaconne Fr. Subal Francis Nayak. Fr. Clyde Guerero Fr. Chris Kaitapu On Wednesday, January 23, 2013, the Provincial of the USA Province Fr. Jonathan Hurrell, traveled to Tonga to formally sign the contract between the Bishop and the Congregation for our new mission there. During his stay, he will also finalize the purchase of our new residence and greet Fr. Chris Kaitapu, ss.cc., who will serve as parochial vicar and missionary priest at St. Michael and St. John Marie Vianney, Missions of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Nuku’alofa. Joining Chris over the next several months to make up this new community will be Clyde Guerreiro, Paul Zaccone and Subal Nayak. We are also extremely grateful to the Tongan Community in Hawaii who will be helping us fund this mission. We look forward to a wonderful new ministry and presence for all of us in a place where we are so welcomed! Meanwhile in India (another mission of the US Province) despite some minor, “to-be-expected” delays, work on the candidate formation house in Bangalore continues to move ahead. The construction is progressing well and the hoped-for completion will be even sooner than expected. It is anticipated that the new house will be officially opened on June 16, 2013. We ask your prayers that these mission ventures may be truly blessed in the years ahead. |
