formationhouse1Situated in the West London suburb of Ealing is our Ealing Community House which was purchased in 1956. This house is a Congregational house of the Ireland England Province of the Sacred Hearts Community of brothers and priests. In past years the house was designated as a formation house, serving as both a novitiate and a residence for students attending Heythrop, Mill Hill and Allen Hall.  At present there are two members of the Congregation living in the house. Kenneth Barnes who is retired and Chris McAneny who is part of the team ministering in the Parishes of Our Lady of Lourdes in Acton and St. Aidan's in East Acton.

The house is also used to accommodate the monthly meetings of the community's members based in England and for meetings of the core group of the SSCC Lay Associates or Secular Branch.  For many years now SS.CC members from other countries have come to Ealing to learn and study the English language or to engage in pastoral activities in the city. The house is also regularly used by Sisters and Brothers of the Congregation who come to visit London on business or for a holiday.

Close to the house is the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in Acton which is also staffed by a Sacred Hearts community and Fr. Chris is currently part of the team ministering there.  Also from time to time our visitors also help out in the parish or assist with the social reachout of Emmaus House in the parish.
