ho The Community of Tanagh, Cootehill currently consists of three members of the Sacred Hearts Congregation, Br Harry O'Gara sscc (left) and Fr Kieran Murtagh sscc (right) with Fr. Jerry White sscc. Both Harry and Jerry are well-known to the local community having worked and lived in the area for many years. Kieran has been a recent addition to the community have ministered in the parish in London for many years up until January 2014. The community is active in the administration of Damien Centre as well as the administration of the local Rockcorry prarish and related projects as well as providing pastoral assistance in the surrounding county. There is also an active lay associate group in the area who support the community in a range of activities. Kieran Murtagh jw

Within walking distance from Damien House (pictured left) is the Tanagh Centre, the former sscc seminary and novitiate at Tanagh (pictured right) which was recently purchased by Co. Monaghan VEC.  The outdoor pursuits centre is run by Monaghan/Cavan VEC and is a recognised centre of the Department of Education and Science. Tanagh Outdoor Pursuits is also a member of Outdoor Education Ireland, the national network of VEC outdoor education centres.

The Congregation of brothers and sisters have developed a project called Adventure Retreats Ireland in cooperation with the Tanagh Outdoor Centre. The centre delivers high quality adventure activities and retreats on a day or residential basis for schools, youth groups, scouts, universities and colleges. The centre is located in a region of overwhelming beauty. The magic of this region lies in its gentle rolling hills, lakes, meandering rivers through enchanting forests and ever changing vistas.
